Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

Offspend helps you track what you spend by reading the transaction messages your bank already sends you. It is built so that your financial information stays on your phone.

What the app reads

What the app keeps

For each transaction it finds, the app stores on your phone: the amount, the currency, whether money went out or came in, the payee or payer as written in the message, the last digits of the account or card, the time, and the category and note you choose.

It does not keep the text of your messages. Messages that are not transactions, such as one-time passwords, personal messages and offers, are skipped and not stored.

What leaves your phone

Nothing is uploaded. The app does not have permission to use the internet, so it cannot send your messages, your transactions or any statistics anywhere. There is no account and no server.

A file or report leaves your phone only when you choose to share it. For example, Settings, Report a problem makes a short report with the app version, your phone model and Android version, which permissions are on, and a few counts. It never holds message text, amounts, payees or notes, and nothing is sent until you pick where to share it.

On phones that support it, the app may ask Google's on-device model (Gemini Nano, through Android's AICore service) to read a message its own rules could not. This runs inside your phone's operating system, and the message is not sent off the device by this app.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes everything it stored.

Children

The app is meant for adults managing their own money and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
